Foreign tourists who are planning to visit this beautiful location in Indonesia can again visit from June onwards as the Indonesian government is planning to reopen borders under Travel Corridor Programme.

The travel corridor arrangement will be offered to the countries that are successful with vaccination programs and are able to contain the spread of coronavirus. These countries would be part of the Travel Corridor Program and the two countries can offer reciprocal benefits. This was said by a statement provided by Indonesian Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno.

Currently, the government is planning to open Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua as these are major holiday spots and these would reopen to foreign tourists under strict health protocols. Before the pilot project starts to open, as many as 2 million residents of Bali would be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

One of the popular Southeast Asian places that is dependent on tourism has started to ease restrictions to revive the economy after the country’s GDP shrank last year for the first time in 2 decades due to pandemic and Indonesia was hit hard by the pandemic.
The tourism minister also said that the government may allow charter flights to bring overseas travelers under its pilot project and this would closely be evaluated for the next 2 weeks.
