Himachal Pradesh is the state which offers you many such backpacking places and what makes this place even more beautiful is its natural surroundings and perfect weather all year round. Dharamkot is a backpacker destination and an offbeat destination which has fewer tourists as compared to Dharamshala. Here you can find many places which offer yoga courses and meditation courses. With its peaceful and picturesque surroundings, Dharamkot is now increasing in its popularity and so does the backpacking culture that it welcomed offers you with a true sense of learning while travelling.
The nearest airport to Dharamkot is Kanga Gaggal Airport, the nearest railway station is Pathankot and via road, you need to deboard at McLeodganj and take a taxi service from here. You can also walk to Dharamkot from McLeodganj as there is one single road that leads to this village.

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand
Nestled in beautiful foothills of Himachal Pradesh and located near to holy river the Ganges, Rishikesh is one of the famous backpacking destinations in Uttarakhand. Rishikesh is dubbed as birthplace of Yoga. Apart from places that offer Yoga, Rishikesh has many other adventure activities such as Bungee Jumping, Rappelling, Kayaking etc. Being a backpacker destination, Rishikesh has many hostels that offer many adventure activities too.
The nearest airport to Rishikesh is Jolly Grant Airport, the nearest railway station is Rishikesh railway station and the road lines to Rishikesh is well connected and can be visited by Bus, Taxi or by own drive.

Pushkar, Rajasthan
Rajasthan is a pretty well-known place for backpackers and Pushkar is one such place to visit. Known for its legendary Pushkar Camel Festival, it is a quiet laid back town that one can visit just to have relaxed backpacking experience. If you want to indulge in any activities here then Pushkar offers Yoga, meditation, cooking classes here.
Pushkar is well connected by all modes of transport where the nearest airport is Jaipur, Ajmer is the nearest railway station and there are many ways via road which leads to Pushkar.

Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh
An adventurous town in Himachal Pradesh, Bir Billing is known as the best place for Paragliding. Billing is the take off site and Bir is the landing site for Paragliding competitions. This is the place that hosts annual Paragliding competition. Apart from being a famous paragliding place, Bir Billing is also an important place for a spiritual purpose. The place is influenced by Tibetan culture hence we can notice many places that dedicate with Tibetan influence. Apart from this, you can also take a tour of Deer Park and Tea factory here.
Bir Billing is a quiet little town and is connected via roadways. The nearest airport is Kangra Airport and the nearest railway is Pathankot railway station. You can take a taxi or bus ride from Pathankot to Bir.

Sunderbans, West Bengal
The place is a go-to for nature, adventure, wildlife enthusiastic backpacker. Sunderbans is a large area of Mangrove forest that is situated in the Indian state of West Bengal. Sunderbans is spread over 1000 sqkms and is one of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you visit here, you can explore the mangrove forests, spot the Royal Bengal Tiger and sail the waters here. Expect constant voices of birds here as this place is home to many birds that are resident or migratory in nature. Although it’s a nice place to visit, avoid this place during monsoon season as the region can get heavy rainfall.
Sunderbans can be reached via boat easily. The nearest airports being Kolkata and Dhaka. Kolkata being on the Indian side and Dhaka on Bangladesh side. From Kolkata Airport you can take a suburban train to Canning and from Canning, you can reach via Bus.
