Many people just after landing at a new destination and checking out of the airport tend to throw away the boarding pass and explore. However, do you know that the boarding pass has personal details mentioned in the QR code and also throwing it away can lead to leaking out the personal information to the public.

Additionally, the boarding pass will also act as a proof of travel if the airline fails to give you the frequent flier miles and this miles would be an issue if you travel in any airline which has codeshare partnership.

A simple tip of a boarding pass is to take a snap of the boarding pass which will help you to show it to authorities. Currently, as E-Boarding pass is on the rage it is better to take a snap or a screenshot of the E-Boarding pass with QR code which will help you to access the boarding pass even without the internet.

Being one of the important travel document, refrain to post boarding pass details on social media, and even if you want to then do not post the ticket number, QR or Barcode and other sensitive sections of the boarding pass and then post it.

The boarding pass is also a ticket to discounts. Usually, at the back of boarding pass there will be discount coupons for purchases, stay and also some have discount coupons for your next visit via the same airline. Throwing this away will result for you to lose these discounts. Some airlines also offer free transit stay at hotels when you provide them with the boarding pass. This would particularly help the people who would have long overnight transit time during a layover.

With all these importance hidden in just the boarding pass, we tell you to shred the pass in a shredder as it is a proper way to dispose of a boarding pass. Do not simply throw away as it leaks out personal information.
